The Nearest Diaphragm Wall to the MRT Tunnel
With the proactive approach since the early concept stage to tackle the critical issue of the diaphragm wall excavation condition (distanced less than 4.0 meters from the outer shell of the tunnel structure of Line 1 in Ho Chi Minh City), ACONS and the project team have gained endorsements from the Metro Authority for Urban Railway (MAUR), NJPT association (NJPT), and the Shimizu-Maeda Joint Operation (SMJO).
ACONS has also proposed the semi top-down methodology combining with buttress diaphragm wall to eliminate the defection of diaphragm wall during excavation to satisfy the stringent requirements of the MRT tunnel structure to less than 20mm defection in each direction.
